Gilbert Mixed-Use Project Reaches Development Midpoint

The Verde at Cooley Station in Gilbert got off to a rough start. The Phoenix Journal reports that groundbreaking on the 135,000 square foot mixed-use center occurred during the Covid slowdown. But today, the $60 million project has opened a number of retail stores with more on the way. Another 12,000 square feet of retail shells are on the way. There are 750 housing units planned as well, for three multifamily communities.

Another part of the project is a 39,000 square foot, three-story medical office building. It started in late 2022 and is expected to be completed by the middle of 2024. Called Verde Medical Center, the $12 million project is being built by Florida-based Sina Cos. and financed by Western Alliance. Plaza Cos. is managing leasing for the property.

Nearby, ten buildings housing 568 residential units are coming to the 738-acre master-planned Cooley Station neighborhood. TRAX at Cooley Station is proposed on 25.12 acres at the southeast corner of Williams Field Road and Wade Drive.
