Grousemont Plans Apartment Project By Pacific Science Center
[ad_1]
Seattle-based developer Grousemont Associates has announced plans to develop an apartment building on the site of the parking garage next to the Pacific Science Center, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Local design company Mithun is the architect, and construction could begin as soon as 2024. Plans call for the current garage to be demolished, and the building will have new underground parking.
Zoning for most of the site on Denny Way at Second Avenue allows buildings up to 85 feet tall with certain incentives to add height. The site measures just over two-thirds of an acre, and Grousemont said it’s exploring an approximately 150-unit project.
In 2019, Pacific Science Center sold the garage to PacSci Garage LLC for $13.9 million. Grousemont is the company’s majority owner, and Seattle NHL’s Kraken team investor and Space Needle board member David Wright is the minority owner and its managing member.
