LCOR has announced the topping out of 1515 Surf Avenue, a residential property in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
The building will comprise 463 units, with 139 designated as affordable housing. It will feature the largest active geothermal system in New York City’s history, using the Earth’s energy for heating, cooling, and hot water systems, eliminating the need for fossil fuels. LCOR partnered with Ecosave USA for the design and installation of the system, which is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by over 60%.
Designed by STUDIO V Architecture, the building will offer various amenities, including an outdoor pool, fitness center, and on-site parking. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2024.
