Tucson Resort Flips for Record Price

Tucson is home to a number of luxury, high end resorts, but until recently none had sold for more than $112 million. That’s the price Southwest Value Partners of San Diego paid Fortress Investment Group of Dallas for the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa at Starr Pass in Tucson. Real Estate Daily News says it’s the highest price every paid for a Tucson hotel. The resort will continue to be managed by Marriott International.

Built in 2005, the 928,511 square feet of buildings sit on 306 acres. Starr Pass features 575 guest rooms, including 35 deluxe suites; a 20,000-square-foot full-service spa with 23 treatment rooms; seven dining venues; a 27-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course; and more than 88,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.

Each of the guest rooms and suites features a private balcony or patio. In addition the resort has three swimming pools, outdoor chimeneas, concierge service, a children’s activity center, a Starbucks Café, and 24-hour room service.
